Board of DirectorsFAI's Board is responsible for helping the organization fulfill its mission. Made up of committed, talented individuals, the Board meets quarterly to monitor and strengthen programs and services, ensure adequate financial resources, provide proper financial oversight, and enhance the organization's standing in the community.
Carol Fabbri, Board PresidentCarol is the Founder and Executive Director of FAI. An experienced financial advisor and MIT graduate, Carol leverages her decade of international business consulting experience to educate her audience and simplify the seemingly complex financial environment. Carol’s exhaustive efforts towards educating individuals about personal finance have been recognized both locally and nationally. She received the TIAW World of Difference Award, which recognizes women whose efforts have advanced the economic empowerment of women. Annually, she has been recognized as a Colorado Top Wealth Advisor. She is often quoted in the national press, including: Forbes, Smart Moneyand (repeatedly) The Wall Street Journal. She is also the co-author of “Personal Investing: the Missing Manual” (O’Reilly, 2010), a book which offers individuals a clear plan of action for taking control of their financial goals.
After recognizing the broad need for quality, unbiased financial literacy courses, Carol founded FAI in 2010.
Jean Lehman, Board SecretaryA lifetime teacher, Jean spent over two decades teaching British Literature at the University of Colorado at Boulder, while concurrently teaching EFL/ESL on four continents. She earned her MS in Education from Indiana University and her PhD in English Literature from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Jean has written dozens of highly regarded professional papers during her career.
Jean joined the FAI Board in 2011 to help FAI work to create a better financially educated, thus less panic-driven, voting populace.
Ann Block, DirectorAs the former Senior Vice President of People for Frontier Airlines, Ann was responsible for the human resources functions and all corporate communications (internal communications and media relations). In addition, she was the executive for a major operational unit (In flight Services) during her career at Frontier. Prior to joining Frontier, she worked at Xcel Energy and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Colorado. After leaving Frontier, Ann established AEB Consulting, LLC, a human capital consulting practice that integrates workforce solutions with business strategies.

Jody Camp, DirectorJody Camp is the Director of Family Planning Programs at Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. She has a long history of nonprofit program management and grant writing and implementation. Prior to her state position, she was the Director of Programs at The Womens’ Foundation of Colorado and the Project Manager for Water For People. Both positions trained her in poverty mitigation strategies and development concepts related to low-income populations. She attended Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and the University of Nebraska.
Jody joined the Fair Advisors Institute Board in 2010 because she believes financial education and independence is a key factor in social justice programs.
Lucinda Wayland Connelly, DirectorLucinda is the Program Planning Administrator for the Broomfield Department of Health and Human Services. She received her doctorate in public administration at the University of La Verne, her MS and BS from California State University, Northridge. She has authored and co-authored several articles focusing on community collaboration and impact that community has on families and child well-being.
Lucinda joined FAI to support the need for quality financial literacy for families and individuals who struggle to have their basic needs met.
Carolyn Jefferson Jenkins, DirectorCarolyn Jefferson-Jenkins was elected the first African American president of the League of Women Voters of the United States in 1998. During her presidency she promoted citizen participation and registration of women, people of color, and the young. Jefferson-Jenkins is the author of The Road to Black Suffrage and One Man One Vote: The History of the African-American Vote in the United States. Her international efforts include participation in democracy building efforts in Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, The Netherlands, Israel, and work with eight African countries. She spent 39 years as a public school administrator and teacher, is currently the Chief Academic Officer, Secondary Education for the Douglas County School District. She is the recipient of the Spirit of Democracy Award (2000), The Girl Scouts, Women of Distinction Award (2010), and numerous other awards. She sits on the board of the Colorado Judicial Institute, the Women's Foundation of Colorado and the Colorado Board of Nursing.
Carolyn joined the FAI Board in 2011 because she believes financial literacy is the foundation of a resilient democratic system, and knowledgeable, responsible citizenship. For people to be fully engaged they must feel economically empowered whether it be a simple savings plan or managing a portfolio.
Pamela Scharf, DirectorPamela has been a human capital consultant with Towers Watson (formerly Watson Wyatt Worldwide) for 12 years. As a consultant with the retirement practice, Pamela works with national and global companies to address their pension administration issues, providing both outsourcing implementation and ongoing project management services. In her role at Towers Watson, Pamela also holds the position of Professional Excellence leader for her Denver practice, and has served for two years as the founding chair of Out@TW, Towers Watson’s global LGBT associate resource group. She also represents Towers Watson on a Colorado corporate diversity roundtable. She has held many leadership and committee positions with the Women’s Foundation of Colorado. She is a member of the Colorado Leadership Council for The White House Project, the Young Leaders Circle and Centennial Club for One Colorado, is co-chair of Women for Conservation with Colorado Conservation Voters, She received a BA in Mathematics from the University of Colorado.
