Our Programs
FAI Programs are educational courses which will improve public knowledge about personal finance. Initially three main programs will be taught- “Personal Financial Awareness”, “Planning for the Future” and “Financial Empowerment.” Each topic is also available as a separate class. FAI will improve financial literacy by holding educational programs focusing on the immediate needs and investing needs of our target audience.

Personal Financial Awareness
Most people spend a lot of time worrying about their money. They wonder whether they are saving enough, making the right investments, and spending too much. Uncertain whether they are doing the right things, many either ignore money completely or accept bad advice from strangers.
It’s hard to learn about personal finance because although there is a lot of information, very little of it tells people exactly what they should be doing. Books, brokers, and talking heads are all very persuasive but there isn’t a single source of verified, nonbiased material – except for Fair Advisors Institute. “Personal Financial Awareness” introduces participants to the building blocks that they need to understand before making investment decisions. The course will provide a 6 week/12 hour training that will cover topics ranging from economics for personal finance to psychology of the investor. Participants will leave the course armed with the skills to review and understand their current investments.

Planning for the Future
The “Planning for the Future” course teaches participants how to create a plan for achieving their long term goals. Whether they want to retire comfortably, send their children to college, start a business in 10 years or sail around the world, few people know how to figure out how much they need to save to realize their goals. “Planning for the Future” walks participants through a four part process to creating their plan for single or multiple long term goals. Participants will create their own plan during the course.

Financial Empowerment
The “Financial Empowerment” course will recognize that low income families are their own experts in living on limited resources. The course will provide five week/10 hour training that will cover topics such as attitudes about money, assessing money behavior, budgeting, access to free services, credit and debt, savings and generational thinking about spending/savings.
